In the 1970s, an abundance of extraordinary music was created by Scratch at his Black Ark recording studio in Kingston, Jamaica. Footage from the late 1970s of Scratch doing what only he could do exists; and one of the songs that he is seen producing is called "Play On Mr. Music". An all-star cast of musicians including the Heptones, Junior Murvin, and The Congos were present to add the vocals after Scratch finished laying down the rhythm track. The footage is a rare glimpse of a genius at work. This t-shirt highlights the main chorus of the song, and is symbolic in that Lee "Scratch" Perry's music continues to "Play On" - even in his absence.
