綿100% シルクスクリーン製版を使用して熟練した職人が手作業で刷ったTシャツです。 ワッツ・サマー・フェスティバルと、そこから生まれた素晴らしい音楽の数々を称えたデザイン。ワッツ・サマー・フェスティバルとは、1965年のカリフォルニア州・ワッツ暴動をきっかけに、1966年に反貧困団体と黒人民族主義団体によって設立。 ワッツ暴動による、憎悪と怒りを黒人社会の前向きなエネルギーに変えようというのが、このフェスティバルの理念で1966年の第1回ワッツ・サマー・フェスティバルに”ミスター・ダイナマイト “こと、ジェームス・ブラウンが出演した。 会場はゲートに鍵をかけなければならないほどの超満員で、フェンスを飛び越えて入場する人が続出した。 1970年代にはワッツ・サマー・フェスティバルは繁栄、映画「ワットスタックス」にも登場し、その名声は不滅のものとなっている。 アイザック・ヘイズ、ザ・バーケイズ、ステイプル・シンガーズ、アルバート・キング、ルーファス・トーマス、その他多くのアーティストが出演した映画『ワットスタックス』は名作だ。 100% Cotton Silkscreen printed by hand The Watts Summer Festival was established in 1966 in the wake of the 1965 Watts Rebellion - by a coalition of anti-poverty organizations and black nationalist groups. The idea behind the annual festival was to turn the hatred and rage from the Watts revolt into positive energy for the black community. The first Watts Summer Festival in 1966 featured among others, “Mr. Dynamite” James Brown. The show was so packed that they had to lock the gates, and people were jumping over the fence to get in. The Watts Summer Festival thrived in the 1970s, and was immortalized in the film Wattstax which featured artists such as: Isaac Hayes, The Bar-Kays, The Staple Singers, Albert King, Rufus Thomas and many others. This t-shirt celebrates the Watts Summer Festival and all of the fabulous music that it produced.
