「僕の曲はコードがひとつしかないんだ。もし他のコードを見つけたら、別の曲のために残しておくんだ」- ジュニア・キンブロー ジュニアズ・プレイスは、ジュニア・キンブローがたミシシッピ州チュラホマに設立した教会からブルース・デンに転じたもので、日曜夜は自家製コーン・ウィスキーが提供されていた。教会の前は商店として使われていたいたが、1991年にキンブローはジュークハウスに改装し、彼が長年自宅で開いてきた伝説的な日曜午後、ハウスパーティーを主催するようになった。 この場所に正式な名前はなく、地元民が「ジュニアズ・プレイス」と呼んでいた。

In the late 1950s Kimbrough began playing the guitar in his own style, using mid-tempo rhythms and a steady drone played with his thumb on the bass strings. This style would later be cited as a prime example of hill country blues. "My songs, they have just the one chord, there's none of that fancy stuff you hear now, with lots of chords in one song. If I find another chord I leave it for another song." - Junior Kimbrough  Junior’s Place was a church-turned-blues-den in Chulahoma, Miss., where the drink of choice for Sunday-night jams was homemade corn whiskey. Before its life as a church, the venue served as a store. Kimbrough turned it into a juke house in 1991 to host the fabled Sunday afternoon house parties he'd thrown at his home for years. The place never had a formal name. Locals knew it as Junior's Place.
 Folks who traveled to the joint, about 50 miles south of Memphis, Tenn., found an intimate room where some of the rawest blues ever played lived and breathed. Local blues fans sat at booths to the side, shot pool or lingered near the jukebox. When packed to the rafters, the place held about 100 people. Off to the corner in the right, the band played in an alcove where the ceiling sloped down with the roof. This joint in Chulahoma attracted visitors from around the world, including members of U2, Keith Richards, Iggy Pop, and the many others who were mesmerized by Junior Kimbrough and his inimitable country blues.
